When using React Redux for asynchronous calls, it is common to use the “redux-thunk” module.  Who comes up these names?  With a name like that, the joke practically writes itself…

In computer science, a “thunk” is a function that returns another function.  In English, “thunk” is the sound one’s head makes as it hit the wall, which is what we sometimes do when faced with a problem we can not solve.  Thunk, thunk, thunk….
