Backup WordPress Database

The WordPress database contains all your page and post content as well as user comments. So it is a good idea to occasionally backup your WordPress database and especially before doing WordPress or plugin updates.

If your WordPress has the WP-DB-backup plugin installed, then you can easily do a backup by going to “WordPress admin -> Tools -> Backups”

Checkmark any additional tables to backup. And you can select option to download the database SQL backup file for safe keeping on your local hard disk of your computer.

You will see that WordPress starts the backup…

Do not interrupt or close this page while backup is in progress. When done, your browser will prompt you to save the backup file on your computer.
