Brook’s Law: “Adding People to a Late Project Makes It Later”

Brook’s law says that “adding manpower to a late software project makes it later”.  This phrased was coined by Frederick Brooks in his book The Mythical Man-Month published in 1995.  And if you are reading the 20th Anniversary Edition, you will find that quote on page 25 in Chapter 2 “The Mythical Man-Month”.

Just to hit home the point, he also mentioned “Nine women can’t make a baby in one month”.
