The meta keywords tag is the tag that looks like this in the head section of a webpage …

where webmasters can insert keywords of their liking. However, since this tag has been over-used and abused by spammers — and anybody can put whatever they want in that tag — Google search engine rather rely on many other more reliable factor for SEO than looking at this meta keywords tag.
